For your home
Households on a standard residential tariff, with or without solar.
- Reads flat, time-of-use and tiered tariffs
- Handles solar feed-in and controlled load
- Concession card rates included
- Tells you when your benefit period ends
Switchbuddy pulls the actual rates off your electricity bill — supply charge, every usage tier, solar feed-in — and compares them against plans published by Australian energy retailers. No sliders, no guessing your usage.
A house and a corner shop buy electricity from the same retailers under very different tariffs. Switchbuddy reads both — one is live today, the other is being built.

Small business sites — shops, cafés, workshops, clinics, small offices.
Lay it flat and take a picture — several pages if you need to. PDFs work too. Nothing to type in.
Supply charge, each usage tier, solar feed-in, controlled load, your average daily use and when your billing period ran.
Your rates, priced against plans available at your address, then ranked. Tap through to the retailer to sign up with them directly.
“How much power do you use?” is a question almost nobody can answer. Guess wrong and every number that follows is wrong too.
Not a national average and not an estimate. If your tariff steps at 1,020 kWh, we price both steps and blend them against how much you really use.
Every retailer publishing to the Consumer Data Right — 86 brands at last count — re-read every night, so a plan that changed yesterday is priced as it is today, not as it was.
Benefit periods end quietly and rates drift up between bills. Switchbuddy tracks your contract end date, notices when your rates rise, and asks before it assumes anything changed.
Switchbuddy earns no commission from any retailer today. When you pick a plan you go to that retailer’s own site and sign up with them — we don’t handle the transfer and we don’t sell your details.

Consumer Data Right energy data covers the National Electricity Market only. Western Australia and the Northern Territory aren’t in it, so Switchbuddy can’t compare plans there yet and will tell you so rather than guess.
No. Switchbuddy is not a retailer, a broker or an agent, and it doesn’t arrange transfers. When you find a plan worth having, we send you to that retailer’s own sign-up page and you contract directly with them.
Right now, we don’t. There is no commission arrangement with any retailer and no charge to you. If that changes we’ll say so plainly on this site and in the Terms before it does.
It’s stored against your account so your history and comparisons keep working, and you can delete any bill — or your whole account — from inside the app at any time. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
No. It’s an estimate: your usage and your rates, as read from your bill, priced against a retailer’s published rates. Your real bill will depend on what you actually use, any discounts or fees that apply to you, and what the retailer charges once you’re on the plan.
Yes — use Switchbuddy Business, not this app. It compares your bill against business plans, ranks only the ones your business can take, and lists plans with conditions separately. It doesn’t price demand charges yet, so it lists those plans with that catch rather than ranking them. The business page has the detail.
Take a photo of your last electricity bill. If there’s nothing better out there, we’ll tell you that too.
